FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Tattoos:

Q. How do you remove Pickazona Temporary Tattoos?

A. Do NOT scrub skin with abrasives, soap & water, or chemicals! Temporary tattoos are water resistant and soap does not break them down. Instead, try adding baby oil (or any oil suitable for the skin) or rubbing alcohol. Let this soak into the tattoo for 30 seconds or so. This breaks down the adhesive and allows you to rub the tattoo away with a soft cloth or cotton ball. Some skin types might require multiple applications of oil or rubbing alcohol. We recommend taking the time to gently remove temporary tattoos as opposed to scrubbing.

Q. How do you apply a Pickazona Temporary Tattoo?

A. To apply a temporary tattoo remove the protective plastic sheet and place the tattoo face down on clean skin (skin with oil, lotion, or sun block seem to repel transfer. If this is a factor prep skin with rubbing alcohol, dry, then apply). Wet the back of the tattoo with a wet cloth, sponge or towel and wait up to 30 seconds. (Use a lot of water. If the tattoo does not release it's from lack of water.) Gently pull off the paper and the tattoo will be on the skin.

Q. Are temporary tattoos skin safe?

A. Yes, we only use skin safe inks. We DO NOT use digital inks which are never skin safe. Don't be fooled by cheap imitators printing using home printers with ink that could cause irritation or even scarring.

Q. How long do temporary tattoos last?

A. Temporary tattoos last from 3-5 days, but the largest factor is placement. If that tattoo is on a part of your skin that is rubbed by activity, clothing, or objects then it will not last as long.

Q. What's the difference between individual and 3-pack tattoos?

A. Individual tattoos are sold loose. They have no packaging and are not ideal to transport. Our 3-packs come inside of a sealed clear bag with an insert card. They are great for gifting and present well. Don't forget that temporary tattoos are allergic to water. The sealed bags are water resistant and will help against minor moisture and dust.

Custom Tattoos:

Q. How long do custom tattoos take to make?

A. The short answer is about 10 days plus shipping time. But like anything custom made some options can take longer and some are a bit shorter. Got a rush order? Give us a call and we'll see what we can do. Keep in mind that skin safe tattoos take time to make because there are several steps where the wet process must dry before proceeding.

Q. What type of files do you accept for custom tattoo artwork?

A. .jpg, .psd, .tiff, .docx, .ppt. Generally, files should be ready flattened and ready for CMYK printing at 300 dpi. Don't know what any of that means, just send a file our way and we'll work with you.

Q. What size can a custom tattoo be?

A. Tattoo sizes go from 1.5"x1.5" and up. Don't forget that a tattoo does need some margin space of about 1/8" on small tattoos and 1/4" on larger ones. It's best to let us do the sizing. If exact size is important make sure you make us aware of this.

Q. What sizes are available for custom tattoos?

A. We can do anything, but really small stuff and really large stuff might be extra. Call us for a custom quote.

Q. What colors can be used for a custom tattoo?

A. Skin safe temporary tattoos are printed using CMYK printing. Colors are close representations and are generally not PMS color matched. If you need this contact us, but realize this will add significant expense.

Q. Can I get a proof of my custom tattoo?

A. We can send a digital proof, but physical proofs cost $35. Know that proofs are done on a separate run with separate conditions and therefore color could be slightly off.

Q. Can you help design artwork for me?

A. Of course. Give us a call and we can quote your project in about 24 hours.

Q. How are tattoos packaged?

A. Tattoos are bulk packed in plastic bags and quantities are rubber banded.

Q. Do you offer packaging?

A. We do. Need your tattoos in special packs, sealed, individually wrapped, or sorted? Just give us a call and we can quote your custom needs.

Q. What are the minimum and maximum order quantities for custom tattoos?

A. In stock tattoos have no minimum. Custom tattoos have a minimum of 25 tattoos.

Q. Can I print a custom back to my tattoo?

A. Yes, just send a file for the back. You can do anything, but there will be some slight changes. We can digitally proof and make sure you approve prior to printing.

Q. How is the color white treated with temporary tattoos?

A. White is not really a tattoo color, but it is key to making a good temporary tattoo. We handle the color white for you, but if you have specific requirements please let us know.
